Oakbrook Terrace, Ill. — May 3, 2004— The Joint Commission today announced the establishment of a task force and an advisory council for plans to develop a new certification program for health care staffing agencies.

This certification program will provide an independent, thorough evaluation of a staffing agency's abilities to provide competent staffing services. Draft standards are expected this summer, and the program is expected to launch by October 1, 2004.
