Cross Country Staffing: Put our experience to work for you
March 7, 2014 by Vickie Anenberg
There’s no short-cut to experience, and with over 35 years serving the healthcare industry and more than 400 healthcare facilities under our active management, Cross Country Staffing hasn’t taken one.
Since 1975, Cross Country Staffing has worked to become the leading provider of temporary healthcare professionals in the country and has now supplied staff to more than 2,500 healthcare facilities across the U.S. and in the Caribbean. Our goal is to continue as a leading provider of healthcare professionals in the markets we serve and improve the quality of healthcare for patients around the country.
Although hospitals have a number of options when choosing a managed services provider, we believe our qualifications and the resources we offer set us apart.
Cross Country Staffing has dedicated travel and per diem brands as well as more than 250 staffing partners and a database of over 300,000 candidates. We recognize the intellectual capital offered by our clinicians makes us unique and, because of this, we created Cross Country University (CCU), which became the industry’s first corporate university. Since 1997, CCU has been accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
We are committed to providing quality care, which is why all of Cross Country Staffing’s healthcare professionals are thoroughly screened and evaluated before a position is assigned. That screening includes:
- Competency testing in seven clinical specialties, as well as IV therapy and medication administration. These tests are developed by clinical experts from around the country and go through a rigorous process of peer review prior to implementation
- Exclusive specialty specific skills checklists, which were the first dual-rated scale skills assessments in the industry
- Performance evaluations at the end of every assignment to maintain a highly qualified workforce
Cross Country Staffing was the first public company to receive Joint Commission Certification through its Healthcare Staffing Services Certification Program. We work with 80 percent of the nation's top hospitals as rated by U.S. News and World Report and 93 percent of the nation's Magnet hospitals.
Ultimately, more of the nation’s top hospitals form partnerships with Cross Country Staffing because we improve internal efficiencies, establish standards and protocols, provide competitive rates without compromising quality and help them achieve their targets and goals.
